Giving to a general fund is easy to postpone because it is abstract. Giving to a named case with a stated need is not, and that difference is the entire product.
Kheir lists verified cases with what each one actually needs, and a donor picks. The app is no longer listed on Google Play; the source remains available.
Problem
The detail that makes a case compelling to a donor is the same detail that identifies a family in a small community. Maximising donations and protecting dignity pull in opposite directions.
Solution
Cases are published with the need described concretely but identity withheld, and verification happens out of band rather than by showing the donor documents about a real family.
